CHESS CHAT
PROGRAM
Childhoodslost's Chess Chat is a free community-based program that meets bi-weekly at multiple venues within the Philadelphia Tri-State area. With Chess Chat, we believe it's all about making an impact! It truly takes a village to guide youth down the path of learning to think critically and make good decisions. Participants have the opportunity to interact with their peers and mentors while learning and playing chess.
We are always looking for youth ages 6 to 17, males and females to participate in our Chess Chat sessions. We like to call our youth participants our Young Kings and Queens.
We are creating change by introducing, implementing and empowering our youth through the Five Finger Commitment, as it relates to each piece of the chess board. The Five Finger Commitment consists of a set of values: Compassion, Identity, Goals, Commitment, and Safety.
For more information about the Five Finger Commitment click here for more details.
We’re always looking for dedicated mentors and chess instructors
